Application #1 - Simple Answering Machine
(SVPRO, SVS, SV)

Scenario : I need a reliable answering machine

Solution: SuperVoice single answering machine script is your solution.

How do I do that ? After you installed the SuperVoice software, the default script setting is the single answering machine script.

Checking the setup:

  1. Make sure your phone line is connected to your modem. SuperVoice should be running either in foreground mode or in minimized mode.
  2. Call the number from another phone, for example, your cellular phone.
  3. You should now see a dialog box popping up in the lower right hand corner. After three rings (this is our default, but you can change it to other values if you wish) SuperVoice will answer the call and you should be able to hear the greeting. After the greeting and a beep you can record your own message. After you finish recording you can just hang up. Your message will be stored in your computer.

Checking your message when you are at the computer

  1. From the SuperVoice Manager, select Play Messages from the Voice menu or click on the VoiceMsg button in the toolbar.
  2. Choose an Output Device. If you choose sound card, make sure your speaker is connected to your sound card. If you choose modem speaker or handset, make sure your modem support the device. Most of the modems do not support handset.
  3. In the Incoming Voice Messages dialog box, select the message which you wish to hear.
  4. Click on the Play button to hear the message.

Checking your voice message by phone

  1. Call your computer from a telephone. SuperVoice will answer the call in 3 rings (this is our default, but you can change it to other values if you wish).
  2. While it plays its initial greeting, press # on the keypad. If you have setup your password, you will be asked to enter the password. The first message will then begin to play. After each message you can choose to Advance to the next message, Replay the message, or Delete the message.

Record your own greeting:

  1. In the SuperVoice Manager, select Setup from the System menu or click on the Setup button in the toolbar.
  2. Click on the Select Script button. You will see the Select Script dialog box.
  3. In the Select Script dialog box, click on the Answering Machine selection so that the circle next to it is marked and has a box drawn around it.
  4. Click on the Select button. The Record File dialog box will appear; it will display the text of the Answering Machine Greeting. The default text is:
"The party you have called is away from the computer, please leave a message at the tone."
If you wish to change the greeting, enter new text and record your new message. Click on Done when you have finished.
  5. Click on Done in the Select Script and Setup SuperVoice dialog boxes. SuperVoice will now operate as a single answering machine.
